In its first year as a 24-hour, ESPN-competing sports network, FOX Sports 1 College Saturday Tour came to Seattle for Washington vs. Arizona the week of September 23 - the same week that Seattle welcomed UW students back to campus.

We worked with our campus partners at the IMA to secure a location for FOX Sports 1 to hold a Fan Fest area just north of the new Husky Track.

The Husky Street Team helped to promote FOX Sports 1 College Saturday Tour on-campus at UW's Welcome Week Dawg Daze Registered Student Organization (RSO) Fair on Red Square and Greek house dinners with more than 2,500 flyers (provided by FOX). They also joined the Husky Marching Band and members of the FOX Sports promotion staff on Friday night during the traditional pep parade around campus which culminates at Greek Row.

While our team did the best to create hype and buzz around the event with students, they were reluctant to leave their Greek houses or residence halls to make their way down to E-1 to get on TV around 10:30 a.m. given that kickoff was not until 1 p.m. Also, the fact that it was monsooning and was some of the worst rain we have ever seen didn't help the cause either. All in all, FOX Sports 1 was extremely pleased with the effort of the HST and our department as a whole and we decided to say "it is what it is."
