FIGs. Like Fig Newtons? What?

Erin Allett

As the Husky Street Team and UW Marketing & Game Day Experience strives to enhance the relationships between Athletics and UW campus and the student body, we continue to find ways to positively partner and team-up with our new friends at First Year Programs.

FIGs (or Freshman Interest Group) is a program that chunks incoming freshmen into mini cohorts that complete all of their classes together during a quarter of freshman year. FIGs are led by upperclassmen that may or may not be well-versed in all things Athletics. FGIs help to ease the transition to college...and they also just happen to provide us with a target group of doe-eyed freshman for our department to share the good word about Husky Athletic events (Olympic sports free with Husky card!) and that are teams are amazing!
